The word "art" can be described as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. This is typically done in a visual forms such as painting or sculpture. However, we now consider music and acting to be an art and musicians and actors are considered artists. 


Physical Self regulation involves controlling one's behavior including mindful breathing and nutritional habits, in the pursuit of long-term goals including health and wellness. Emotional self-regulation refers to the ability to measure and manage ones emotions and impulses, in order to control the bodies reaction to stressful stimuli and maximize pleasure. Self regulation can be considered an art form because of the internal beauty and alchemical responses that can created based on the desires and practices of the artist. In regulating oneself, you are the artist and your body and mind are the canvas


"Art of Self-Regulation" (ASR) is an integrative mindfulness and physical education program designed to empower students to be effective advocates for their own health and wellness. ASR aims to provide a toolkit that all human beings can use to prepare themselves for the inevitable traumas, transitions and other challenging events in our lives.


 ASR focuses on the human body, mind, energy and spirit. The core of the program is based on teaching skills such as mindfulness, efficient breathing practices, self-awareness and the mind-body connection. Students will be introduced to performance techniques used by elite athletes such as body scans or "checking in" with the body, mental imagery or "visualization", physical recovery, and healthy nutritional habits. Other subjects in the course include yoga, meditation, chemistry, biology, anatomy, psychology, sociology, neuroscience, quantum physics and spirituality.


The first course in the program will focus on self knowledge and strengthening the respiratory system. 


One on one and group virtual ASR classes are on an appointment basis only.

 Art of Self Regulation provides students with basic information about the human body.  Students will learn about the body's digestive, circulatory, nervous, neurological and respiratory systems as well as other important functions of our bodily systems. The full ASR course provides knowledge and practices that can help anyone learn to control the functions of their autonomous nervous system and induce self healing.

 Breathing deeply and mindfully has been proven to improve reactions to stressful stimuli, reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, improve respiratory health and help create an overall sense of wellness. Art of Self Regulation teaches students about the respiratory process and how to regulate the flow of oxygen for optimal health and wellness. Also taught are very special techniques on how to increase the capacity and strengthen the lungs.

 Feel better and improve your overall quality of life by learning proven self-care techniques such as mindful breathing, optimal nutrition habits, physical fitness, and recovery. Students will also learn self acupressure and reflexology for tension release. Art of Self Regulation will also introduce students to specific targeted breathing techniques which can send healing energy to any part of the body.
